Agent Astro Takes Flight: Launching at the MedTech Conference

October 16, 2025

The MedTech Conference in San Diego was buzzing this year. It was an event full of executives, founders, and decision makers from across the global medical technology sector. The energy was high from the start, and for most of the conference our booth had a steady line of people wanting to see what we had built. The only quiet moment came when Arnold Schwarzenegger took the stage for his keynote at lunch on Day 1 — even I was tempted to sneak away to listen.

Agent Astro officially launched that week, and it was the first time we showed the product publicly. After ten months of building, testing, and refining, this was our chance to see how the industry would respond.

What Agent Astro Does

For those not familiar with medical device regulation, getting a device cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is an incredibly complex process. Companies must prove their device is substantially equivalent to one that has already been approved, which means regulatory teams often spend months digging through data, guidance documents, and standards to find the right evidence and language to support their submission.

Agent Astro changes that.
It’s an AI-powered research assistant that instantly analyzes FDA databases, guidance documents, ISO standards, and past approvals to help regulatory professionals find what they need in minutes instead of months. It doesn’t replace expertise — it amplifies it. By automating the heavy research, Agent Astro gives experts the insight and time to focus on strategy rather than paperwork.

Reaction at the Conference

People were genuinely blown away by what they saw during the demos. Many tried to push Astro to its limits with complex and technical questions, but Astro consistently produced accurate, cited, and referenced results. A big part of our success comes from how we validate outputs: we use up to five large language models to cross-check results, and every week our team of subject matter experts — including former FDA staff, academics, and regulatory veterans — reviews thousands of queries to improve quality.

Data security was another hot topic. It was important for attendees to know that Agent Astro is built with strict encryption and data custody standards, ensuring that any proprietary or confidential information uploaded by users is fully protected and never used to train models.

A Personal Milestone

For me, this launch was more than a product debut. It marked the moment our vision became real. We had bootstrapped the company from scratch, navigating all the ups and downs of start-up life, and now we’re establishing ourselves as a trusted partner for dozens of organizations in a massive, fast-moving industry.

Carpe diem has been my guiding principle through this journey. Truly, just get started, trust the process, and surround yourself with trustworthy people who have complementary skills. Then work very, very hard.

What’s Next

Our engineers, developers, designers, and subject matter experts are already deep into building Version 3 of Agent Astro — one that will be even smarter, faster, and more intuitive. My focus is on following up with the hundreds of people who expressed interest at the conference, building partnerships with complementary platforms, and refining how we tell our story.

The response in San Diego showed that the industry is ready for this kind of innovation. Regulatory affairs is no longer a downstream function; it’s becoming a strategic driver.
